BumblebeesButterflies accommodates 10 children ages 2 – 3 years. The staffing ratio is 1 staff member to 5 children.

Our learning environment allows children to make their own choices by being split into various learning zones which allows staff to focus on the individual learning needs of each child. The environment is rich in resources which promote experimentation and investigation.

The staff support your child through key stages of development such as the toilet training procedure and encourage children to begin forming friendships and sharing with others. We use holistic approaches with our early learners, prompting and encouraging positive behaviour whilst promoting and developing their social skills to allow them to form friendships and learn about co-operation and communication. Our children are the centre of all that we do, we are here to support, guide and flourish our early learners into confident, happy and independent individuals.

Using “Together We Can and We Will” as a planning tool our well experienced staff use a wide range of resources to provide a variety of limitless learning opportunities and open-ended play which meet the individual needs of the children.

Planning is responsive to the child’s interests and the environment is designed to provide time, space and stimulus to capture the children’s imagination. The children have the opportunity to develop early numeracy and literacy skills. In play situations, early writing and mark making skills are supported with the use of resources which capture the child’s imagination and help develop their gross and fine motor skills.

Early mathematical concepts and numeracy skills are introduced through fun activities and supported by the environment. Language development is supported by rhyme, words and song, with the children encouraged to ask lots of questions and to express themselves with confidence.
